J&K: Winter Vacations Extended in Schools, Republic Day Guidelines Released
Jammu, January 21, 2024: In response to the persisting harsh winter conditions, the Directorate of School Education, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, has issued Order No. 36-DSEJ of 2024, declaring vacations for all schools up to 12th class in the Summer Zones of Jammu Division.
The vacation period is scheduled from January 22, 2024, to January 27, 2024.
This decision follows a series of orders, including Order No. 1354-DSEJ of 2023 dated December 18, 2023, Order No. 09-DSEJ of 2024 dated January 4, 2024, Order No. 22-DSEJ of 2024 dated January 6, 2024, Order No. 30-DSEJ of 2024 dated January 14, 2024, and Order No. 33-DSEJ of 2024 dated January 17, 2024.
It is noteworthy that while regular classes are on hold during this period, students involved in Republic Day celebrations’ preparations will continue to attend rehearsals.
Heads of Institutions (HOIs) are instructed to ensure the smooth progress of these rehearsals and to guarantee all arrangements for the Republic Day Function are in place, fostering the enthusiastic participation of the students.
The directive, signed by the Director of School Education Jammu, is disseminated to various authorities, including the Divisional Commissioner, District Development Commissioners of multiple districts, Joint Directors of School Education in Jammu Division, and the Chief Education Officers of relevant districts.
Moreover, the Information Department is tasked with amplifying the reach of this announcement through both print and electronic media.
This step aims to ensure that the information reaches the wider public and concerned stakeholders.
The order will also be uploaded on the official website of the Directorate for easy accessibility.
This proactive measure by the Directorate acknowledges the challenging weather conditions and prioritizes the safety and well-being of students, aligning with the commitment to providing a conducive learning environment.
